Black History Month
This month, we celebrate Black History Month to honor the accomplishments of African Americans in our country. We have walked through tragedy, trauma and loss, but as we walk toward change, it is important to honor and encourage those who have suffered in the name of justice, equality and progress. Amanda Gorman, an inspiring black woman, shared an inspiring original poem at 2021 Biden Inauguration and said,
“We are striving to forge a union with purpose. To compose a country committed to all cultures, colors, characters, and conditions of man and so we lift our gazes not to what stands between us, but what stands before us.”
At The Well, we believe that what stands before our community of broken but healing women is the opportunity to rise up and change the world with the power of love through relationship.
We stand with our friends of color and their desire to see change: change in the direction of our country, change in our disinvested communities of color, change in our underfunded inner city schools and change in our hearts and minds.
The Well strives for a beautiful diversity in our healing community of women because healing and reconciliation comes from loving, listening and building trust.
